Masterminding Groups to open up in January 2010

Masterminding occurs when two or more individuals get together in the spirit of cooperative harmony to accomplish some goal, activity or result.  Almost all of the great accomplishments and miraculous achievements of history were brought about through the power of this principle. Mastermind Group members act as an advisory group for each other, help create amazing and powerful ideas, and support each other in personal and professional achievement at a level that is uniquely possible through the collaborative group experience.

Benjamin Franklin is credited with being one of the first to establish a Mastermind Group, which he called the Junto (Latin for meeting). His original group was formed to provide a forum for structured discussion. He called together a group of friends including printers, surveorys, merchants, a cabinet maker, a cobbler and a clerk. The group consisted of twelve members sharing a spirit of inquiry and desire to help others and improve themselves and their community.

In the early 1900′s another group formed in Chicago. Six men who had big ideas, but little money started meeting every Saturday at a local restaurant for dinner. These men put Chicago on the map, becoming worht several million dollars each which at the time was an exceedingly enormous amount of money.  The group became known as the Chicago Six. You may have heard of some of them: One was Charles Wrigley, who created the Wrigley’s Chewing Gum empire. Another was William Hertz, who built the Yellow Cab Company. Their businesses were started and succeeded with the great help of their Mastermind Alliance.

In 1908 Napoleon Hill was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie (then the richest man in the world) to interview the 504 most successful people of his day. The objective was to find what success has in common. Nearly 30 years later, in 1937, Dr. Napoleon Hill published his timeless classic, “Think & Grow Rich.” In his personal interviews and observations of the most successful people of his day, he stated, “Analyze the record of any man who has accumulated a great fortune, and many of those who have accumulated modest fortunes, and you will find that they have either consciously or unconsciously employed the ‘Master Mind’ Principle.”

“No individual may have great power without availing himself of the Master Mind. This form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune. Your understanding of this truth may definitely determine your financial status.”

Dr. Hill described this Mastermind Principle as the “Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

Hill shares how he learned about MasterMinding from Andrew Carnegie, the richest self-made man on earth in his time. Carnegie told Hill that his wealth and success was due entirely to the MasterMind Process. The MasterMind Principle states: “When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of harmony and work toward a definite objective or purpose, they place themselves in position, through the alliance, to absorb power directly from the great storehouse of the creative mechanism of each contributing mind.”

Napoleon Hill shares his InSights into the  mystical quality created when a mastermind group was formed. He said: “No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.” In other words, your ability to create things in the world is increased by having that invisible “third mind” of the mastermind group.

MasterMinding is based a premise that the combined energies of two or more like-minded persons is greater than the sum of the individual energies involved. This power is much greater than any one of us is capable of on our own, even though we may be extremely capable. People who become involved in the power of the MasterMind experience dramatic, positive changes in their lives and go on to have happy, successful lives aided by these guiding principles.

Throughout history individuals can attribute success to the MasterMind principle in their lives. James Watt & Matthew Boulton (who started the Industrial Revolution), Andrew Carnegie & JP Morgan, John Rockefeller, Thomas Edison & Henry Ford & Harvey Firestone, The Wright Brothers, William Wrigley Jr., Bill Gates & Paul Allen,  and Jack Canfield  are just a few examples of individuals who have proven success from belief in the concept.

The InSights Group has conducted MasterMind groups since opening the doors in January of 2008. Much of the success and experiences of the group and it’s members can be attributed to some powerful ideas generated by the power of the MasterMind. We have experienced first hand how teaming up with like-minded people will exponentially accelerate success.

Our groups, like Franklin’s, are limited to 12 participants per group. Our participants are individuals that are entrepreneurial in nature, possess a positive attitude, have a willingness to share experiences and help others, are already successful but still seeking improvement, are highly motivated, are eager to substantially improve income and who value the creative process.

All participants in an InSights Group MasterMind share a common goal to excel in their own field and help one another, and make a substantial contribution to improving the world. The synergy of the group is an important part of being able to create such a positive space for each individual and the group to be an amazing success.

When you share yourself, your dreams and goals with these groups, you will get what you seek. The challenge is often in thinking big enough. Our groups are here to support you in your journey to business and personal success.

•Social Media Strategy

Everywhere we turn, we hear that social media has become an important force in business marketing, which is very true. Money goes where people go, and people are going to social media sites.

Having an account in a social media platform (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) is not the same as having a social media “strategy”, and having a strategy is essential for success.

Inspiration for the day

“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” – Hellen Keller

I shared this post on Facebook, thanks to a friend who had posted it on her wall. It was such a popular comment I needed to share it here as well.

Make this day as amazing as you can, then wake up again tomorrow and do it all again!

So, I have to ask:

Have you read Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk? What did you think?

Not to bias the results, but I did just buy a whole shipment of this book to give as gifts. I think it is a great inspirational book to help people get excited, and so much more. I was reading through some of the comments on Amazon and saw there were more five star reviews than the lesser ones, but there were some people who don’t seem to get it. I thought I’d do an informal survey here. What are your thoughts on the book?

I’ve even shared the recommendation, letting people know if they got the book and didn’t like it that we’d be happy to take it off their hands. Haven’t had to do that yet, because everyone we have shared it with has loved it.

My questions to you, what did you think of the book, and what has it helped inspire you to do?

Are you using email marketing to follow up?

Creating a social media presence is great, and necessary in today’s marketing efforts. Another element of online marketing is using an email list to communicate. What steps are you taking to follow up with the people who you meet and connect with online. Here’s an article summarizing some points you might want to consider.

What do you do to create fun, interesting, relevant and response generating emails?

How many hours a week would I need to spend…

to keep my business Facebook and Twitter site up and fresh?

I would try to touch each of these sites at least daily, if not several times a day. You want to start with blogging, which can automatically update each of the sites.

Check in with your profile. Update events that you will be attending. Share thoughts of things that you have done today. You can update via your cell phone while you are out and on the road.

The best part of social media is that you can decide when to check in and which sites. The rest can be working for you even when you are not there. What time of day and day of the week should you be most active? It depends on who your audience is, and who needs to see your updates. Let us know if we can help you strategize on what will be best for you, and how much time you should be spending on social media.

Specialized social media strategies

are currently in development from the InSights Group, and industry specific updates are pending  for the legal profession and dental offices. So many people are using social media, businesses that have used traditional methods in the past are recognizing the power. In the last Boot Camp held at the InSights Group there were many representatives from dental offices, and dental consulting firms from around the US. There are so many great ideas for how a dentist and staff can have a strong social media presence. The notes from class are being compiled into a resource guide, and advanced strategies are being developed!

We’ve also recently consulted with several offices in the legal professional world. There are even more strategies for connecting with people via social media than we could discuss in a two day seminar. Watch for specific updates coming your way. Who have you recently noticed that seems to have some new strategy behind their posts?

Having a social media account is not the same as having a social media strategy.

How can we help you develop yours?
