A note from Jodi:
My grandmother always told me, “Jodi you are so good natured.” And wouldn’t you know it I grew up to love nature and graduated college with a degree in Horticulture. Through the field of Horticulture, retail sales, growing, consulting, gardening services and teaching, I have been able to share my passion of painting the outdoor canvas, naturally.
Currently, I get to master my skills in the position of Horticultural Consultant for the Live Green Roof Services at CEI Group LLC. I am also a part of the sales and marketing team for our national commercial roofing service department. Since 1969, CEI has been known as the Commercial Roofing Specialists covering buildings nationally and around the World.
CEI Group has earned a reputation as one of the country’s most progressive roofing firms. We pioneered single ply roofs in the 80’s, were on of the first roofing companies to maintain their own sheet metal shop and today are leading the way in green roofing projects.
With a strong desire to live a healthy life, we transitioned into natural, green and non-toxic cleaners for our home and added naturally made supplements to our nutrition. Eric, my high school sweetheart & husband for 24 yrs and I are blessed with 3 children, Joaynna, Libby and Max. Having children motivated me to become an advocate on raising children as naturally as possible. It became apparent to me that getting back to the basics and harnessing what we are naturally given helps us to raise very healthy and happy children.
Holistic and green living has been a strong desire of mine and a motivation for healthier living at home, school and work. Because of this, I have chosen a business with Shaklee, the #1 natural nutritional company in the U.S. as my source of nutritional & green products to benefit our health and home along with supplemental income. I continue my quest for beauty and peace in my advocacy about healthy, natural and green living through my Shaklee business by volunteering, seminars, classes and making my own changes to live a more sustainable life!
Since 1993 in the field of Horticulture I have shared gardening with others through my work at retail nurseries & greenhouses. For 5 years I owned and operated The Potted Garden.Inc which installed and maintained landscapes for over 40+ clients annually. As my husband and I expanded our family, I devoted my time to home. Just to keep my hands dirty, I joined with Julie Lopez and developed Michigan Gardens to Go. We provide pre-designed perennial gardens that take the guesswork out of gardening. Along with the design services we have a series of garden talks & classes for groups and on-site consultations for homeowners. Recently, I have joined with another gardening addict, Lisa Marody and began The Garden Ladies a company that focuses on Gardens for Education on school grounds that incorporate not only science, but math, writing, creative thinking and community skills.
When it comes to volunteering, most would agree that my name is “naturally” on the list. Being active in all aspects of home, school and my work has given me great opportunities to serve my family and community. Through coordinating projects such as Gardens for Education, Michigan Green School, Go Green Earth Day events for local schools. I have been honored to be apart of the Insights Group for Masterminding for both business and personal improvement and involved with Pii- Parent Involvement Institute helps balance and sharpen parents existing skills and promote new opportunities to be leaders in their community.
