for quiet reflection? We get caught up in our day to day routines, and are so busy being busy. Where do you find the moment to have some time to relax, renew, and enjoy where you are right here, right now?
Does it mean turning off the phone, stop checking your email? What are we busy working towards, and do we forget to live while trying to reach our dreams?

Great question. I was just thinking about how much taking time for myself has given me MORE time, or at least the time to appreciate the time I have.
For the past three years, I have been making time on Sundays to just be with horses. I put no time limit on it but I try to be there and mindful by an early hour *for me*. There is no phone, no email, no contact with anyone other than myself. Nothing gets me close to peace and calm like being around horses. I could be reading a book and seeing them from a hill far away or working with them…both reallign my perspective and help me approach life mindfully.
Since I have been putting time aside for myself, I have been able to accomplish so much more in my life. More than I ever did when I was just scurrying through the days/years with my to-do lists without planning time to breathe.
If I could go back in time and teach my 20 year old self something I’d say: Learn to take time to appreciate this life. Appreciate what you have created. Appreciate how hard you have worked. Appreciate yourself. Celebrate even the smallest victories.

I want one of those watches from Harry Potter’s Mr. Dumbledore. Stop, go back and fix, enjoy. (Now on the Twilight Zone, a charter with that watch dropped it while time was standing still.)

I beleive taking time for yourself is a habit you need to develope just like eating and breathing. When I am feeling tence, a simple walk down the road with my dog does the trick for me. I constantly, daily suggest to my 2 mature daughters to take 20 miniuts just for them. Breeth and relax. I am hoping if I casually mention it every day it will become a habit with out them ever realizing I helped create such a good habit.
