LinkedIn Hits 100 Million: This Week In Social Media
We’ve been talking about LinkedIn from an entrepreneurial perspective for quite some time now. We’ve also done several workshops for job seekers. Here’s another reminder from the recruitment side. Make sure that your profile lists every relevant job in your past history, including all pertinent key words. Recruiters are trying to match highly qualified individuals with the perfect jobs…and I’ve recently learned even more how they scan a resume BOTTOM UP in a lot of cases. If a job has a specific criteria for a certain education level, make sure that is clearly identified. Next, they want to see your job history advancing. New positions with higher titles. Good placements also often come about when someone has had a variety of positions throughout the last 10-15 years. If you’ve held the same job for 30 years and try to look for something new, employers may think you are “stuck in a rut”.
If you are in transition or seeking new employment, InSights offers a social media review package and professional resume editing to help you put your best foot forward. Call or email for details.
